Shuttle Oregon FAQs

Scheduled Shuttle Route:

Q: IS SHUTTLE OREGON THE ONLY DAILY SCHEDULED ROUTE BETWEEN CENTRAL OREGON AND SALEM?

A: Yes, we are the only direct service between Central Oregon and Salem. Riding with us, this trip only takes 2 hours from Sisters and 2 1/2 hours from Bend!

Q: WHY IS THE PRICE TO AND FROM REDMOND HIGHER?

A: Our ridership in Redmond is limited therefore with our location being in Bend, we had to choose between discounting the stop or increase the price to continue to accommodate the stop. At some point, we will revisit this change if ridership increases. Redmond passengers can continue to use our service at the increased price or utilize our Bend & Sisters stops at our regular prices, which can both be easily accessed using Cascade East Transit intercity routes.

Q: IS IT SAFE FOR MY CHILD TO TRAVEL ALONE WITH SHUTTLE OREGON?

A: Yes! Minors are welcome to travel with us. With a maximum of 14 passengers on board our drivers are able to ensure a safe environment and all Shuttle Oregon drivers pass a comprehensive background check. We are happy to keep in contact with the parent/guardian during the trip, and we require that the parent/guardian be at the arrival location early.

Q: CAN I USE THE SERVICE IF I AM PAYING IN CASH?

A: You can pay cash. You will be riding as a walk on and are welcome to check with us on availability OR you can purchase a ticket at Hawthorne Station in Bend during their operating hours.

Q: CAN I BRING MY PET ON MY TRIP?

A: Yes! Your dog or cat is permitted for a $10 fee (service animals free). Cats are required to remain in a carrier during the trip. Dogs may travel without carrier, please contact us if you want to bring a carrier.

Q: DO I NEED TO MAKE A RESERVATION FOR MY TRIP?

A: We highly encourage an online reservation! We can reserve a seat for you over the phone if needed. Walk on passengers are welcome but you risk the possibility of the trip being sold out or not connecting with us. Walk on price is $5 more.

Q: WHAT IF THE WEATHER AND ROAD CONDITIONS ARE BAD?

A: Shuttle Oregon travels in most weather conditions and if the conditions are unsafe or too severe to travel in we do our best to make that decision the night before travel and to contact our booked passengers to give them options. In the rare case where we make the decision to cancel a trip, we will give passengers the option to move to the next available trip or to provide a credit for future travel.
